Tough Long Day In Texas

The old body could not get going this morning, so I did not leave Van Horn, TX until 8:30 AM.

It was another day of biking on I-10 into a very strong wind from the south/southeast.  At times I was riding hard and only managing 10mph!  The shoulder was ruff and the handlebars were vibrating causing my hands to go numb.
We passed many buttes and rolling land with an occasional oil well pumping that "Texas Tea"

Tonight we are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Ozona, TX.  Terry, the manager was kind enough to "comp" our room -Thanks Terry!

We ate at the Hitching Post and loved the Texas Chicken Fried Steak

The Ozona, TX area is know for it's wool & mohair production.  It lies in Crockett County - named after Alamo hero, Davy Crockett.

Day 11 of Riding:
Total Daily Miles: 104
Total Ride Miles: 1139.9
Total Daily Elevation Climb: 2011'
Total Daily Ride Time: 91/2 hrs.
Average Daily Speed: 12.9mph
