  5. Just learned of your loss on Facebook -- it is so sad... and every bicyclist's nightmare: getting the back tire bumped by a vehicle. My prayers are with you.

  6. I did not know Mr. Grooter but read with sorrow of his tragic accident. His apparent dream of completing a long ride almost came true but whether or not he completed his dream is irrelevant.... it's more important that he was living his dream and inspired many others I am sure to "always live your dream" whatever it might be.. God bless Mr. Grooter, his family and friends.

  12. Vicky, it is 3:20 pm on October 7th. We just got your email and checked the Blog. We are utterly, completely and totally devastated. Oh my, the memories, most resent having you both spend a night here with us and just for a few hours on the epic journey. Please lord, take care of Roger, make him a saint and protect his family from the anguish we feel in the loss of a good man, husband, father and friend. How can this be, oh lord, how can this be?

  14. I just heard about the incredible loss and I am deeply saddened by it. But, I am also incredibly encouraged as well. What a wonderful and brave thing Roger was doing.

You know, there are a lot of people in the world who will say, "someone ought to do something about this or that", but there are only a few people like Roger who will actually risk their lives to do it. His family should be so proud of what he did and how far he came.

    Bless you all,
    Sara
